SUPER BLOO - ELENA CARRANZA

Today I want to show you a very good way to learn and have fun: videogames!! For children, playing videogames is one of the most popular activities to do when they are bored. That's why I want to present you a very good example of a videogame which was created by an ex-pupil of our school (Nuestra  Señora del Prado, Marianistas)  and two more university students.
Super Bloo is a game which consists on change your shape to liquid, solid, or gas  (remember you are a water drop) to rescue and save your family. Their authors, like I said before, are three students of the  second course in the university Camilo José Cela, U-tad. One of them is my sister, Raquel Carranza, who is studying interactive products designe. She did all the stages and characters of the game. The other two students are Alejandro Román and Víctor Rodríguez, two young programmers with too much ambition. Their group name is Q-ARTZ studios.
Their first intention of creating Super Bloo was to participate in the Three Headed Monkey Awards  (#3HMA) but they never thought that they might stay in a good position beacause there were professionals  who finished their studies; THEY WERE FINALISTS! The final was celebrated the last Friday, 20 of May in Barcelona. Unfortunately, they didn't win but they remained second in a videogame trivial. Now, they are so happy beacause of the experience. Like my sister said: It's great to know that you really are good in what you like, and this competition has demonstrated us that we can do what we propose to ourselves.

New AI set to give Siri a massive improvement- María Cabanes.

New technology obtained from Apple’s acquisition of VocalIQ last year is poised to drastically improve Siri’s search capabilities, Business Insider reports. One unnamed source said VocalIQ’s AI was able to answer complex questions like, “Find a nearby Chinese restaurant with open parking and Wi-Fi that’s kid-friendly,” 90 percent of the time, greatly improving on the 20 percent averaged by Google Now, Siri and Cortana.

What’s more, VocalIQ’s AI remembers context forever. With the example listed above, saying, “Find me a Mexican restaurant instead,” will change the style of restaurant while still remembering the parking and Wi-Fi parameters mentioned in the first request. VocalIQ was previously working on automotive applications for it’s technology, and the AI’s proficiency is expected to be most useful in the car, where eliminating the need to look at a screen for confirmation is of paramount importance. Apple declined to comment, so how and when VocalIQ’s improvements will make their way into Siri is still an open question.

A NEW BATTERY- MARINA CÓRDOBA

The short battery life is the number one complaint when it comes to smartphones and laptops. As cordless tools , having to ' bind us ' to the current seems a nuisance. And while researchers seem to try to advance the field of wireless charging rather than extend the durability of these .

But researchers at the University of California have invented a battery base gold nanowires that can be recharged hundreds of miles times. A significant leap towards a replacement battery that is not required.

The nanowires are perfect for storage and electrical transmission. highly conductive and much thinner than a human hair, which can be stacked to provide a large surface area for electron transfer. Unfortunately, the nanowires are very fragile and are not very friendly of charge-discharge cycles.

DON'T YOU EVER STOP TO THINK ABOUT THE "HEALTH" OF OUR PLANET?- RICARDO GARCIA

Nowadays, our planet has some problems that can have several consecuences in the future. One of them is globlal warming.

Global warming is already having significant and harmful effects on our communities, our health, and our climate. Sea level rise is accelerating. The number of large wildfires is growing. Dangerous heat waves are becoming more common. Extreme storm events are increasing in many areas. More severe droughts are occurring in others.

We must take immediate action to address global warming or these consequences will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly, and increasingly affect the entire planet: including you, your community, and your family.

The good news is that we have the practical solutions at hand to dramatically reduce our carbon emissions, slow the pace of global warming, and pass on a healthier, safer world to future generations.

With your help, we can accomplish it.

Together, we can tackle global warming.
